Steel Reinforcement

Metal work in the form of rebar or mesh is collectively known as reinforcing steel and reinforcement steel. This steel bar or mesh of steel wires is used as a tension device in reinforced concrete and masonry structures to strengthen and aid the concrete under tension.

Concrete is strong under compression but has weak tensile strength. Rebar significantly increases the tensile strength of the structure. Rebar’s surface is often deformed to promote a better bond with the concrete.

INCLUDED IN THE RANGE

At Civils and Lintels we work with market leading suppliers such as ROM and Arcelor Mittal to provide a comprehensive range of metal work.

Our range of metal work includes steel rebar, mesh and fabric.

ROM Steel Rebar – This rebar is manufactured from 98% recycled raw material meeting BS8666 standard and is cut and bent to meet BS4449 standard. B500C grade is the standard as it gives the highest quality of material at the most competitive rates. This rebar is available in a diameter of 6mm to 50mm covering an area of 28.3mm2 to 1963mm2 respectively.

ROM Steel Mesh – The steel mesh is manufactured from 98% recycled material exceeding the BS4483 – 1998 or BS7123 Standards with Type 2 wire profile in all ‘A’, ‘B’ type meshes. We can offer mesh in standard form, fly ends and merchant fabric. Steel mesh is available in a wide variety of lengths, widths and diameters.

Arcelor Mittal Standard Fabric – Kent’s wire’s fabric is manufactured from cold reduced wire with a ribbed profile. The wire intersections are resistance welded using modern, computer controlled, automated welding machines. All fabric is regularly tested to ensure conformity with BS4482 and BS4483 or BS4449, it also carries a CARES certificate which is an internationally recognised seal of approval. All mesh product is available with flying ends, reducing the need for cutting, wastage or lapping congestion.
