Middle East Crisis

Update
8 May 2026
Following our recent communications, I feel it prudent to provide a further update on the ongoing situation in the Middle East and the increasing impact this is having across our sector.
In recent days, we have seen further escalation and confusion in relation to the conflict, bringing renewed volatility to global markets, most notably crude oil prices fluctuating around $100-110 per barrel (Feb 2026: $65) and, as a direct result, manufacturers continue to battle through these volatile challenges, with impacts in several areas including raw materials, manufacturing and transportation.
Consequently, you will be well aware that an increasing number of our supply partners have either implemented, or formally notified us of, intended price increases, many being at increasingly short notice and, given the continued uncertainty and pace at which the situation is evolving, we believe it is highly likely that this trend will persist in the near term.
At C&L, we are continually in close dialogue with our supply chain and are taking all possible steps to mitigate cost impacts where possible and will be sharing regular updates to our price increases page on our website. However, and as previously communicated, we will be implementing these increases in line with supplier effective dates for all customers.
Given these challenges, we strongly encourage you to continue planning your requirements in advance and to remain in close contact with your local team, who are best placed to support you with the latest information on pricing and availability.
Our focus remains on maintaining strong product availability for our customers to ensure project completion with minimal disruption and we will continue to keep you informed with clear and timely updates going forward.
Thank you, as always, for your continued understanding and support.

Supply Chain and Pricing Update
26 March 2026
Following last week’s initial update, I am writing to provide further information on the impact to our sector from the continually evolving situation in the Middle East.
As anticipated, we are now beginning to see tangible effects across parts of the market, with an increasing number of our supply chain partners advising of imminent price increases, primarily driven by rising commodity costs.
These pressures are likely to continue in the medium term, and further adjustments cannot be ruled out as the situation develops.
Whilst we remain in close contact with our supply chain and are actively working to mitigate these impacts wherever possible, we will need to pass through these increases in line with the relevant effective dates.
All known and impending pricing updates will continue to be published on our Price Increases page.
We also encourage you to liaise with your local team to plan your upcoming requirements in advance where possible.
Our priority remains maintaining high levels of availability and minimising disruption to your projects, and I will continue to provide timely updates as more information becomes available.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support.

Statement
20 March 2026
We feel it is appropriate to share an update on the current global situation and how it may affect parts of the construction supply chain over the coming weeks and months.
The ongoing crisis in the Middle East is creating disruption and significant uncertainty in global markets and across international freight routes. This has the potential to place pressure on cost base and lead times across a number of UK industries, including our own.
We have already seen some fuel surcharges introduced in the past week, along with further updates from key supply chain partners who are exposed to critical raw materials and are closely monitoring this evolving situation.
I would like to reassure you that teams across our Group are monitoring developments daily and working closely with our supply chain partners to keep stock moving as normal. While the wider picture remains volatile, we are committed to keeping you updated with clear and direct communication as soon as anything changes.
We will continue to share information openly regarding any changes to pricing or availability, enabling you to plan and respond with confidence moving forward. As always, please stay in touch with your local team to manage your immediate material requirements.
Thank you for your continued support, as we remain focused on minimising disruption and helping you keep your projects moving.
